While She Was Out of the spotlight in recent years, Grammy Missy “Misdemeanor” Elliott has a lot to do with something that has nothing to do with music. The winner of hip-hop star and Grammy suffering from Graves disease, an autoimmune disease that affects the thyroid, she told People magazine.

“You live with it for the rest of your life,” said Elliott, 39.

Diagnosed in 2008, Elliott said she experienced many symptoms of the disease, such as dizziness, mood swings, heart palpitations and hair loss.

She spent much of the last three years to get to treatment for his condition. Since then she has dropped 30 pounds per year and seems ready to concentrate on his music.

“My thyroid function, so I do not have to deliver drugs in nine months,” she said.

About 10 million people in the United States live with the condition, according to the National Stroke Foundation Graves. “Graves’ disease causes the thyroid to become overactive and produces too much thyroid hormone regulate. Thyroid hormones to the energy levels in mood, weight and overall standings.

The symptoms of Graves’ disease include muscle weakness and protruding eyes, fatigue, tremors and insomnia.

The most common treatments are medication, the thyroid gland, radiation therapy and surgery to remove the control gland.

The condition responds well to treatment, but most patients need to take thyroid medication for life to regulate hormone levels.

Elliott owes his Twitter page to the fans for their good wishes.

“I do a lot,” she said, adding that she is happy, they can motivate others.
